Saturday we took the boys to Home Depo for the free kids project......I only got my fingers hit twice with the hammer!
The final product - flower pot holders for mother's day! They even got to plant seeds!
You might be asking why we have three, not two......I sorta messed Logan's up by not following the directions, so William was backing the nails out for us and the top piece split in half.......they gave us another one to replace the parents' mistakes, but with a little wood glue at home, we were able to salvage the broken one.
Redneck splash pad!!!
A tarp, and a hose, and wa-la!
Hours of fun!
William put another tarp over the trampoline to create some shade for the boys! He's so great!
Tent sleeping practice in the living room!
They camped out Saturday night.
Since William was off work Monday, we decided to go camping for real!
There is a lake just 10 minutes from our house - so it's perfect if you forget something, the weather takes a turn for the worse, or kids melt down - none of which happened - but knowing the back up option was nice!
NO ONE was tent camping, so we had the whole place to ourselves! It was GREAT!
We checked out the beach.....I had told the boys they could go in up to their knees - yeah, I should have known better! Logan is in mid-fall here in this picture.....so it quickly became an all out swim! It didn't last too long as the Ranger told us it's sate law not to swim when the sun goes down.....I guess that's when the gators get hungry??????
We took bike rides around the campground/lake/park. Jackson couldn't run with us the whole time, so he got to ride in the trailer with Logan!
And Connor rode on the back of my bike!
After the swimming and bike ride adventures, we came back to the camp site for evening burnt, err I mean roasted, marshmallows!
Morning!!! Not sure that we slept too much, but MORNING!
Fishing practice! The boys have rods with rubber fish on the end so they can practice casting.
Ready for the real deal!
We didn't have bait, but used left over hot dogs.....half the time Logan's hot dog would fling off behind him when casting, so needless to say, we didn't catch anything, but it was still fun.
William quickly realized what his dad used to say - Dads don't fish, they just fix tangled line and bait hooks for their kids and wife! hee hee!
Eventually Logan decided to go back to the rubber fish and just practice casting and reeling in.
Grandma and Grandpa came for an impromptu visit last week! It was SOOO great to be able to do that last minute and not have to plan flights across the ocean! They helped us fix up our yard with flowers and mulch and even helped create a couple additional flower beds in the back yard. We were working so hard that I didn't get any pictures - booo! I SOOOO appreciate all your help ma and pa!!!! THANKS!
We went for a picnic at the Black Bayou and Cypress lake.
My boys!
We had to take Grandma to Sweet Frog since she'd never been before!
Gettin' my snuggles.
The boys enjoyed all the times Grandma and Grandpa played with them....cars, planes, restaurant, cats, puzzles and more!
Checking out the gators at Bass Pro Shop on the river in Shreveport.
Ahhhhhh!
The alligator was eating his fingers off.
Dad had a recent bout with a racing heart beat, and checks his heart and blood pressure daily......Connor watched, and decided to help. Another funny note....the boys now refer to their vitamins as "peeels" (real southern way of saying pills) like Grandpa does!
Ohhhh Line Ave......I've wanted to see what all the hub-bub was about at the cafes and bistros in that area for a while now, and we FINALLY checked it out. Great atmosphere, but a bit pricy for everyday lunch.
Awe.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
Cupcakes with mom......the BEST afternoon!
William and dad stayed home with the boys and mom and had an afternoon out together. We found the cutest jewelry and accessory store (hats, shoes, some clothes) and spent two and a half hours in there just looking at everything!! It was GREAT! Then we stopped for a cupcake and coffee at a swanky little shop in the area. Thanks for the afternoon out, Mom! I LOVE YOU!
We went to see the flowers at the Art Museum.
Hiking around the paths behind the museum.
Connor and his neck grabbing and thumb sucking......
.......anywhere, anytime.
Suggestions anyone on how to break thumb sucking?????
