We went camping a couple weeks ago at Lake DeGray in Arkansas. That's the water behind the trees. It was beautiful and soooo clear!! We rolled in to our camp site late Friday night....pitch black dark...and guess who forgot to pack flashlights? ME! Good thing William put the lantern in the truck!!! The boys huddled around it as we set up camp by the light of the truck headlights......until they went dead! But praise God the truck started the next morning without a jump!
The boys.
Digging in the sand.
Breakfast one morning.
....because his hair-do made me laugh.
We took the boat out and stopped at every little "island" the kids wanted to "explore" - so fun!
Looking for shells.
Oooooo pretty.
Did I mention the water was SUPER clear!
Rock tossing.
Jackson soooo enjoyed our weekend too.....swimming, exploring, and boat riding....he definitely had a bigger smile than usual.
I never knew he liked to swim so much!
The boat view.
He LOVES boat rides!
Sweet brothers.
Connor and I were driving the boat.
Connor got tuckered out and rested with me on the front of the boat.
Beautiful views!
They played in the water until the sun went down.
Logan is pulling a rock by a string....acting out the book we read about Henry Knox bringing cannons across Massachusetts to the American soldiers. He is really enjoying history books these days.....when he's not reading about Star Wars, that is!
Because we haven't had rain, there was a burn ban at the camp site. They did however let us use charcoal, in the provided grills, for cooking......so we roasted marshmallows over hot coals instead of a fire......and per our discussion Justin, that is not the same! wink wink!
Fishin.....or should I say casting practice?
Pulling up big rocks from the bottom.
A fun get-away weekend.
