We went to see Papa Bill and Grandma Patti in Florida last week.
We stayed at their property on Howard Creek, which is only 20 minutes from Mexico Beach, so we hit up the beach a few days too!
Teaching Logan the art of drip castles!
Connor was a bit scared of the ocean at first.....but by the third day he was playing in the waves with Logan.....I just didn't get any pictures of that because our hands were full keeping track of two youngins!
More drip castles.
Papa Bill and Grandma Patti snuggling in the shade.....before I took this one for them, they were taking selfies! HA HA HA - so cute.
Lovies.
Hanging out pool side at Howard Creek.
To the left, is a screened in porch complete with an outdoor kitchen and full bathroom, then behind that is the fifth-wheel trailer that sleeps 10, then behind that, the boat and golf cart pole barn - pretty sweet set up!
Practicing in the pool with their new snorkels and fins.
We took lots of golf cart rides!
Grandma Patti had it decorated for the fourth of July parade.
Logan got to drive a few times and thought he was just a "cool dude".
We found a park near by.
Connor loved their little dogs......but they didn't like him in their face so much.
Just chillin' one morning.
Then Daddy came out and it was wrestle mania time! Even Jackson got in on the action.
The kids spent a LOT of time here while at the camp site.....playing in the sand with their construction trucks.
Papa Bill preparing the frog legs for dinner.
Meal time is always EXCELLENT at the Fowler's!
Ribs one night with friends across the street.
Papa Bill took us out on the boat two different times to go fishing!
Just a cute picture of Connor....look at the sweat beads on his little face.....he gets it honest!
Connor got a little one too!
But he wore out faster than Logan and got some extra snuggles on the boat.
One afternoon it started POURING rain while we were fishing - it was so fun!
We huddled under an umbrella but Papa Bill and William braved the rain.
And Logan even managed to catch a fish in the rain!
Logan caught the biggest fish both days we went fishing.
Cheesing for the camera.
Got another one!
We caught 24 brim one day and 16 the next.
Needless to say, we had a good fish fry back at the camp site!
The boys.
Papa Bill was pretty impressed with Logan and Connor's Spiderman fishing poles - they were just the right size to maneuver around the overhanging trees.
This was the biggest catch of the two fishing trips, but we had to let him go (a mud fish that wasn't good eatin') after Logan had fun reeling him in.
I was so proud of Logan - he learned to bait his own hook with crickets, and attempted to take his fish to the cooler!
Tuckered out again.
William's brother Mike drove down for a visit one evening and ate dinner with us.
Thanks Mike! It was good to see you!
We bought the boys some noisy guns at the dollar store - they were a big hit! They ran around hunting and shooting all sorts of stuff!
Cleaning fish for dinner.
Back at the sand pit building bridges with left over wood scraps.
Fishing trip #2!
Watching Papa Bill drive his boat made me smile.....you can really tell how much he enjoys being out on the water - he's got a cute little smirk on his face that won't wipe off!
Some of the pretty cypress trees along the water bank of the creek.
William took the boys and I to Toucan's Saturday morning for the breakfast buffet. Again, I was so impressed with how Logan is becoming a little man.....he loaded and carried his plate all on his own, and the waitress commented on his good manners.
After breakfast, we hit up the beach again.
Digging.....
Digging.....
Digging....
Digging...
...and more digging!
And a drip castle!
Papa Bill and Grandma Patti took us out to dinner at Uncle Ernie's on the bay.
The boys enjoyed the boats.
If you look close, the paddle boat William and I got married on seven years ago happened to be docked right behind us. Awe, a sweet memory.
Sunset on a doc outside of Uncle Ernie's
We bought fish food so the boys could feed the fish while waiting for dinner.
Sweetness.....and a better shot of the boat in the background.
William's brother Andy met us for dinner twice while we were there.
Thanks Andy!!! We enjoyed hanging out with ya!
The view from our table.
A family picture after dinner.....we missed you Mike and Adam!!!
Logan found a shark!
Father and son.
It was good spending time with ya'll, love you!
We took the boys to Destin and Fort Walton to spend the night before coming home.....this was our view eating at the Crab Trap one afternoon. We spent more time at the hotel pool than at the beach, Logan's swimming ability is REALLY improving! He was two feet short from swimming the entire length of the pool! And Connor was all over the place too - two little water bugs!
We stopped at Hurlburt Field to check out the base......they had lots of planes out on display!
And a super sweet play ground with a splash pad!
And this cool zip line that Connor really got a kick out of!

Looks like fun! Love Connor's cheese face!!! Fishing trees were cool....except I wouldn't want to fish there as to always thinking about the snakes that could drop into my boat from the tree branches!!! DD!
